In my experience, scores produced from Credit Karma are quite a bit higher than the mortgage reports we pull as lenders. I seen this multiple times.
Credit Karma is not very accurate at all.. in fact, we call it the "Fako" score, not the Fico... anyway, scoring models vary depending on the type of credit you are applying for.. example.. if you apply for a credit card, then the score is based on the likelihood of you defaulting on a credit card.. likewise, when you apply for a mortgage or a car loan, it's going to be different.. but when you are not applying for anything, but just want to know your score, then the model is usually vastly different.. and in most cases, results in a higher score than actual.. hence, the "Fako" label.. If you want to get your credit scores to see if you qualify for a mortgage, the call a mortgage broker and let him run it.. that's the only real way..
