I'm seeking a lender that will finance a mortgage for people with less than perfect credit.For some reason Toyota financial has been reporting me late which I am disputing.I paid them off in full today.I paid Toyota and GMAC at the same time every month,but GMAC never reported anything negative.Toyota refuses to admit a mistake.I have been on my current job at Vanderbilt Medical for over 20 years and can make a down payment of 20% or more.I would appreciate any assistance that you can give me.Do you know of any lenders that can assist me? The link above "Find A Lender" will get you access to approved Lender411 lenders in your area.. Most banks require a 640 mid score, so you're not that far away.. Here in AZ we have several lenders that go down to as low as 580.. I'm sure there are lenders in your area that will do the same.. there are other factors in determining your eligibility other than a credit score, so the best advice I can give you is to contact a LOCAL mortgage broker, not the local "Big" bank, and certainly not one of those 50 states internet lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. Mary,I am sure there are a number of lenders out there who can help you with finding a loan. However, I would suggest working on your credit to get your score up before signing up for a mortgage as a lower credit score translates into a higher mortgage rate. A good mortgage professional will be able to help assist you in the steps you need to take in order to improve your credit score.
