Having a hard time getting an FHA loan

Hi, my name is John, 25 years old and looking to purchase my first property. I am having a hard time getting approved for an FHA loan though. I work as an electrician through a staffing agency to work on projects and it seems that lenders are not keen on approving such project based income. I am applying with a new company for more stability. Are there lenders who would be willing to help me out? How long do I wait until I can get pre-approved for a loan? by claypool847 from Atlanta, Georgia. May 11th 2022 Reply

Unfortunately, Employment through a staffing agency is difficult to rely on as a steady source of income because an agency may not be able to ensure you are always working. Temporary agencies are just that, temporary. Getting on with a single employer to continue to do the kind of work you do is the first step to qualifying. You will need a two-year history in employment, and your temporary positions can fill some of that requirement. I wish you good luck in landing a better position. Stability of income, as you can imagine, is a very important factor when mortgage lenders review someone for financing. Temporary staffing agencies do exactly what the name implies, TEMPORARY jobs. Not only for mortgage qualifying, but I would guess you'd find it more comfortable to be hired permanently somewhere too. The good news is that if you have a least a two-year job history in your entire lifetime, if you get hired at a company that is hourly or salary, lenders will allow you to get financing right away based on that new job.
