husband passed away in 2012. it has been a miracle that the mortgage is still goig and i'd like to keep it that way but the monthly payment is a little too high for me. since i have a VA loan out now (got with my husband but my name is on the mortgage itself), can i do a VA refinance as well? by lara.n79486239 from Northfield, Massachusetts. So long as you have not re-married, you would be eligible as a "Surviving Spouse". you would still need to meet all other eligibility requirements such as credit, income, DTI, etc.. but yes, you can still use his benefits if you have not re-married.
