You will need to have a credit report pulled to see what is being reported. In most cases, your rental payments dont get reported.

if you don't have a credit score, then there are others types of "Alternative Credit" that FHA allows. These types of files have to be manually underwritten, but there is a way to get you approved.. The best advice I can give you is to contact a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Do not use the local "Big" bank, or one of those 50 states internet lenders or nationwide lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Typically, things like rent, phone bills, utilities, etc. do not count towards credit and are not reported to the credit bureaus - unless you fail to pay them and the account is turned over to collections. Any revolving credit, store credit cards or car payments will count towards credit. There are still many options...give me a call if you would like to see what is available.

A department store card, such as Kohl's and a secured credit card will help build a score quickly.

Yes, that info counts and most lenders will use it to supplement what is on your credit.
