First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit

So I am looking to purchase a home in the next few months, I was unable to get it done before the tax credit deadline. Are there any plans for a new version of the tax credit to be rolled out this year? by Mike392F from Miami, Florida. May 11th 2010 Reply

Hi Mike: The Federal tax credit has expired. As of right now there are no rumors or other chatter about new programs to boost the buyers market but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I would suggest that you give serious thought to purchasing now rather than wait for a program that may not happen. Prices have been slowly escalating from their bottoms late last year and the beginning of this year so you may lose out on a great price by waiting. There are no legal options for you to still obtain the $8000 tax credit. You would have to have in place a legitimate sales contract dated before 5/1/2010 and close by June 30, 2010. The only way to do that today is fraudulent.

Hi Mike, I have not heard of any plans for a new version of the tax credit or any news of an extension. There is still an option for you to receive an $8000 credit though. Please give me a call at 602-688-1339. Brian, BNC National Bank. besquivel@bncnationalbank.com
