I was employed in Australia for the past few years but I am now living in the US and trying to get a loan. My mortgage broker wants verification of my employment history but the company that I worked for went under and I'm having a hard time getting the necessary papers. Any ideas? The closing date is approaching so I need to act fast by FGreen_273_552 from Chicago, Illinois. Aug 1st 2012
If you worked for a company that is no longer in business, either here or in AU. then the lender should be able to find something on the internet to support that.. Also, if you have filed taxes in US for your AU income, you should be ok as well.. This shouldn't be an issue for you or your broker unless you have been back for less than 2 years.. But in either scenario, it can all be explained with a letter of explanation.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
Are employed now in the same line of work? Did you file a tax return for the United States? Are there past co-workers in Australia you can call to get the information?
did your previous employer issue any forms?
How much are you putting down and how long employed in the usa
