Gianni, the HARP guidelines do not require a particular minimum credit score to qualify, however you must still be able to qualify on the traditional grounds of the mortgage. A HARP Mortgage is primarily meant for individuals who have lost value in their homes and are now unable to refinance because of it. You can find out the general requirements by visiting: http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/programs/lower-rates/Pages/harp.aspx.
Gianni, Good afternoon. You do not have to have perfect credit to qualify for HARP. I have closed literally hundreds of HARP files in my office over the last couple of years for homeowners in Texas like you and me. Not only does it take away the limit for Loan to Value but also allows for up to a 65% debt ratio and less than perfect credit as long as you have not been more than 30 days late in the last 12 months more than one time. I am happy to speak with you about this great program that has helped millions of Americans lower their mortgage payments monthly.
