If you have the need to get your Credit around, I would suggest looking up HUD approved counseling services. These will typically be a Non-Profit and won't charge for their services.

There are TON's of credit repair companies, but which one's are good and which one's are not is the question.. if you do a Google search for "Credit repair " then you should get a list of local companies offering this service.. but before you jump on board after the first sales pitch, do your due diligence and check out the company on the Better Business Bureau's website. What I tell my customers, is NO, we do not do credit repair. You have to do it yourself. We can give a few pointers, and maybe set you in the right direction, but it is all up to you. Loan officers do not provide credit repair but will review the credit report with you and let you know what needs to be done and lead you in the right direction. Most things you will be able to do yourself or you can hire a credit repair company to help you. Ask your loan officer for a recommendation if needed or check out the BBB like William mentioned.
