Do credit unions generally have better rates than banks?

I'm interested in purchasing a home and am unsure if I should go through a credit union, bank or USDA. My credit is about 650. by 87robbysmith38 from Victor, Idaho. Mar 3rd 2015 Reply

Rates vary but generally you'll find roughly comparable rates among lenders. If you are eligible for a USDA direct loan that will be your best option. Best wishes

Typically, a mortgage broker is your best bet.. they work multiple lenders (I have 21) with each lender offering a different lending program.. the more lenders, the more lending options and the greater likelihood your loan will get approved.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
