You need at least 90 days active duty, pus credit and income. Contact a local mortgage broker, no the VA.
You met the timeframe eligibility, now contact one of the LO's that are on our wonderful free forum and they can shop several lenders for you and help you secure your form DD214, that is what I do in FLA...
Gulf War - Service during period 8/2/1990 to date yet to be determined If you served on active duty during the Gulf War, you must have: Completed 24 months of continuous active duty or the full period (at least 90 days) for which you were called or ordered to active dutyVA guarantees a portion of the loan. If a loss ultimately occurs on the loan, VA will reimburse the loan holder for all or part of such loss. You will actually go through a lender (like myself) to obtain the VA mortgage.Let us know how we can help. Thanks, Linda
The VA does not lend money.. they only insure loans against default.. So long as your full time active duty for at least 90 days, then you can apply for a VA loan. It's best you talk to a local mortgage broker in your area. I would shy away from the local banks, since they only have limited lending programs.. Brokers deal with numerous lenders seeking out the best terms for your particular scenario. More lenders means a greater likelihood your loan will get approved.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
