I am assuming you are talking about a Social Security or Pension Award letter? There are ways around that. Any good loan officer should be able to deal with that. So stay away from the big banks and online lenders. Contact a local mortgage broker near the property for assistance.

More info needed, specifically, what benefits are you talking about? Social Security? VA Disability Benefits? Pension?, etc.. if it's Social Security income, then you can go to the SS website and request "Proof of income".. same is true for VA benefits..
