Deceased owner

I looked into an abandoned house and found that the previous owner got a reverse mortgage then passed away a few weeks later. It has been vacant for about 5 years. Who would I contact about purchasing the home? Advise for the offer I should make? by arachne854 from Forest Park, Illinois. Aug 3rd 2020 Reply

The deceased heirs are the ones you would need to connect with. I would think that the lender would be trying to recover their funds by foreclosing and selling the property, but because so much time has passed, it may mean the estate is still in probate. You may need to employ a Real Estate attorney or a Title Company to do a search for who has the right and power to effect a sale to you. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington.
