dealing with sketchy lender?

hey Lender 411! first time long time. need some help. if the lender (bank sales property) will not allow us to physically view the house we want to bid on, more than once, should we be worried? They have sent us over 100 thorough pictures but have filed to keep 6 2nd viewing appointments! this seems sketchy and my husband and i think we need a 2nd opinion. thanks Lender 411. good site BTW by brandon_karasik749 from Honolulu, Hawaii. Its always good to get a second opinion, but just FYI it is not uncommon for the banks to do this, Bottom line, the banks are not in the business to sell homes. This is why investors always get the deals, they factor in that every 10th home they buy may have hidden problems, and the other 9 homes worth of profit will make up for it. Just hope that you don't get the 10th. I would still press the agent to get you in, at all cost, but I would not think the bank is doing it intentionally . Hope this helps

No 2nd opinion needed,, you are buying from the bank.. not a homeowner... The bank is not in the business of selling homes.. they need to move money.. The home will get bids.. and the highest will get the property "As is".. It should be clear that after 6 canceled appointments, they really don't care.. So, you as the buyer, need to make your decision.. do you bid on it based on what you have already seen and inspected, or do you just move on to another property... Personally, it's bad business to keep breaking showing appointments... but I wouldn't say it's being sketchy.. I'm pretty sure they are not trying to hide anything.. they are just used to dealing with investors who can view a property and in 10 minutes, know what they will need to do and how much to bid.. but if you come along and want to view it like you would in a home in a new home subdivision, then you won't get their attention. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com NMLS# 226347 / LendUS, NMLS 1938/ AZMB0121893

Bank owned properties and silly requirements from the bank selling the property are common. Seems dumb, but... Hell ya, I'd be worried about buying a house I've never seen personally. On the other hand people do it all the time. As a side note, I bought an old car online with just pictures. It turned out OK, but was less than I expected. Good Luck. I lend in MN, SD, and WI, and can be found at JoeMetzler.com NMLS274132
