If only one of you has VA eligibility then you will need a down payment. If you each have VA eligibility then yes, as little as no money for the down payment
Yes you can as long as he is the one living there. tom@lendfm.com
Much more info needed.. First, who's the veteran? You, your dad or both? 2nd, why do you need to put your dad on the loan? is it because you have limited or bad credit? is it because your dad's the veteran and you don't want to put anything down? Understand that VA loans are for owner occupied properties only.. If your dad is the veteran and he already has a home but is willing to cosign for you, then this is not allowed with VA since the veteran wont be living in the home.. in all reality... The scenarios are endless.. so it's difficult to guess what your motivation is to buy with your dad.. For this reason, I suggest you contact a local mortgage professional and give him 10 minutes of your time.. once they have all the info, they can advise you to the best loan product for your particular scenario.. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com NMLS# 226347 / LendUS, NMLS 1938/ AZMB0121893
Wow... Some bad answers here. If both of you are veterans, then yes. If you are not both Veterans, then the realistic answer is no. I said realistic answer is no, because while technically possible, it is almost impossible for non-married co-applicants on a VA loan. I suggest contacting your local mortgage broker who does VA loans for a proper review of your situation and what you are attempting to do.
