Can I refinance my house without my husband being involved?

I live in Texas, which I believe is a community property state. We've only recenlty gotten married and I've had the house for many years and it's still in my name, maiden name at that.I'd include his income, but his credit is bad. Can I refinance without involving my husband? by cobki209 from Garland, Texas. Apr 20th 2011 Reply

You would be able to refi in your name, however, in community property states, you would have to count your husbands debts in your expense ratios.

you will not have to count your husband's debts against you if you do a conventional loan. we can structure the loan in your name only where his negative credit history does not affect you. give me a call at 214-733-6899. if you do an FHA loan, then we would have to include his debts (those in good standing he is actively paying), but he still would not be on the loan.
