Katie, with great interest rates we are offering and some good deals on the market, you would be able to get quite a bit of home for $600-$700 per month. We have a loan program that allows for no money down which will work in Lakin. Depending on tax and insurance cost for the specific home you pick out, a house in the $95,000 range with no down payment would run you about $700/month (including the taxes and insurance). The payment on a $75,000 house would be about $600. Best of luck in your seach. We would be glad to help you determine how much you would qualify for. Mike Purkey (316) 259-5862.
All other things being equal, you can find a home that will fit your budget. As said before, it will be dependent on the location as to whether a home can be found in your price range and that the 600-700 will fit in your budget, based on lending guidelines.
I just paid off my car last year. The payment was $687. I guess everything is relative. If you pay less for the house, you will pay less to hold on to it on a monthly basis. Like I paid off my car loan, you could eventually pay off this kind of small loan early such as 10 years or less and then you would have NO mortgage payment.
