Can I get government subsidized loans on rental property?

Much more info needed to answer your question.. When you say rental, do you mean single family home?, 2 to 4 units or 5 or more units?? First, I"m not sure there are any "Subsidized loans" available anywhere.. However, the government (HUD) will guarantee loans for certain individuals who purchase rental properties in low income neighborhoods... this is primarily for 5+ units.. you would still need a hefty down payment and reserves, and you will have to have rental experience, but HUD will assist... If you are looking at properties that are 1 to 4 units, i'm not sure anything is available.. even through HUD.. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets.
