You can from some lenders but the interest rate or fees will be higher than if you can improve your score to over 620 and preferably over 640. It will be likely also be more difficult to get approval with a score that low.

If you poke around enough, you'll be able to find a few lenders who will work with a 600 score. With that said, score alone does not an approval make. generally speaking, when I see a score that low, there are other items on the credit report that will get you denied. Talk to a local mortgage broker. Go over your entire application and credit report. See if there are some quickly fixable items on the report. Your real target credit score for getting a mortgage should be a minimum of 640.
