Yes and no... Although there is nothing in the guidelines, most lenders will not refinance a loan that has been modified.. If you asking about getting another mortgage?.. it depends on what's going on with the home you have the mod on.. if you still own it, then probably not.. if you short sold it... then you will have to wait 2 to 3 years.... if you sold it as a straight up regular sale, and there was no deficiency, then you will probably be ok.. Unless your more specific about your scenario... it's hard to answer.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Hi Jkilde. Becuase in order to modify your loan successfully you need to be behind on your mortgage. In refinances most lenders if not all require that there is not more than 1 late in the past 12 months. I've seen people late as much as 3-5 months on their credit history. If so the question is, how long have you been late for first before you were successfully modified. Thanks Good LuckManuel

More details would be helpful, but in general yes as long as only the rate was reduced and there was no reduction in the principal amount of the mortgage. Your payment history is important as well.
