can anyone give us some advise on a H.A.P. home purchase ?

We signed a contract on feb. 2 2011 with a closing date of march 31 2011. The home is a H.A.P. home.We are wondering if we should just walk away at this point. The intrest rates are going up everyday and this would have been our dream house but we would have been tight on money to get it.We also dont understand why 2 months is not enough time for someone to get paperwork done. I worked in insurance and if i ever had file on my desk for more then 1 day my boss would have had me for lunch. We are just confused and scared and worried and excited well we were now we are scared tired and depressed. please any advise would help. by nikki foote from crestview, Florida. Apr 3rd 2011 Reply

Hi Nikki. It sounds like you are experiencing the frustration of working with government funded programs. If it is anything like the DPA programs here in Ohio, the lender must underwrite the file, then the local gov't agcy must also do the same thing. It generally does take double the time. Just hold on a bit longer. Pat McCarthy, Northpointe Bank Mortgage, 866-901-3576
