This is a classic example of why consumers need to do a little more research on whom them use for the largest financial transaction of their life. Rarely is the correct person a bank, the company flooding your mailbox with letters, or the out-state lender on the internet claiming to have rates better than anyone else. Do a BBB search, Google the name of the company plus the words scan or fraud, and do the same with the name of the actual loan officer. Finally learn how to find out if your loan officer is actually LICENSED, or simply registers. Click my name to the left and search my blog for the article.

Actually, some do. Since early 2010, ALL Mortgage Loan Originators are required to be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Also, we are required to include our unique NMLS number in all forms of marketing. Additionally, the License number and NMLS number issued to the lender is also to be prominently displayed. The company and individual you are references does not list his or his company's NMLS numbers or license numbers on either his Lender411 bio, nor on his website. A search of the NMLS registry does not find the name of the individual purporting to be the President. I also found the following bullet point humorous... "we are the nation's oldest and most repected lending company since 1996 and still lending to people and companies like yours" In addition to the poor spelling, The oldest since 1996? Seriously? I can think of Dozens of respected lenders that have been in business since long before 1996. One of the things I almost always include in my answers is this... Don't forget to check out your selected Mortgage Originator at the National Mortgage Licensing System at www.NMLSConsumerAccess.org If you can't find them here, or if their employment history is thin in the industry, it's probably best to stay away. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com

Kekewalkimi Mortgage is a scam. I tried to refinance through them. They told me they can close in 3 weeks, They asked me to pay about $2 for credit checking. I gave them my credit card. A few hours later my credit card company informed me that my credit card was being used on restaurants in another state and online shopping. Worrying this will delay my closing, I called Kekewalkim to check if they were able to charge my credit card. They said no. I gave them another credit card. The second credit cards also being used in few hours. Naively, I told them both of my credit cards have unauthorized transactions. They said they have been in business since 1996 and this has never happened. They promised me to received closing package on certain date. I did not receive the closing package and asked for tracking number. And off course, they could not provide that information. This is the time, I realized that Kekewalkim is not a legit mortgage broker. They just want my credit card number.
