Hi Virginia, the USDA does not have any specific wording banning flat roofed homes. The key to finding out if something like this will get signed off on is if there are comparable sales that also have flat roofed homes. It's all about how the appraisal comes out and how the underwriter see it. IMHO
No.. but during the appraisal inspection, if the appraiser notes any issues, then it's possible he will make his appraisal "subject to" having the deficiencies repaired.. the lender will not lend unless the appraisal is "As Is" value..
