Appraisal question?

I had an appraisal completed on my home, and the lender advised that it is "in review" and that I would be getting a copy of it shortly. Is this typical? Why would I have to wait? by h.franzen450 from Richmond, Utah. Nov 12th 2015 Reply

The lender get's the appraisal first, and they review it for errors, corrections, or updates.. once it passes their in house appraisal review department, they release it.. this is part of the normal process. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. This is typical on almost ever transaction. The lender will get the appraisal & review it for any inaccuracies. Once the review is complete, if the appraisal is good, you will typically recieve it within 24 hours of the lender recieving it. If the review catches anything that is wrong with the appraisal, they may have to send it back to the appraiser to make the necessary adjustments and this could hold up the appraisal getting to you.
