I am an American citizen (US passport and TX drivers license) living and working in the UK. I own a house in TX, which I currently rent out and plan to sell soon. I want to know if a mortgage lender will give me a loan to build a house on a piece of land I own free and clear, in Orgeon, based on my UK income. The house would be a vacation home and possibly a rental home until my husband and I relocate to the US, which will not be for at least 5 years. My US credit score is 771 and my TX mortgage is in good standing. Are there mortgage brokers and/or banks that specialise in mortgages for people with foreign sources of income? Any guidance would be helpful. by Jrthan_804_583 from , . Mar 20th 2013
You face a big challenge. Vacation home construction loans for US residents are difficult enough. You might try a local or regional bank, such as Umqua Bank, or a small credit union. Good luck.
What you are asking for I dont believe is avalable any longer, try a credit union local to where you are looking to build.

Yes, have your mortgage broker in Oregon look into the Foreign National Program. If you decide to sell the land in Oregon and buy something in California or Illinois, please give me a call I am happy to assist. Good Luck.Scott Gimbel Serving Mortgage Clients for 25 years 800-509-1064
