Am I able to extend my mortgage to 30 years?

I have a high interest rate and poor credit. I don't know if i would even qualify to refi but i need lower payments. Is there a way I can extend my mortgage with the current interest rate? by srggl760 from Browder, Kentucky. Apr 27th 2018 Reply

In some cases we're able to help someone refinance their current mortgage when 2 of there 3 credit scores are 580 or higher.

You can't just extend the existing loan. The only option is to refinance to a new loan. Poor credit means many things to many people, so is it too poor to get a loan, is it poor enough that you can only get a loan worse than you have, or is it poor, but OK enough to qualify for something that will help. I suggest contacting a local mortgage broker in your state to run an application to give you your options. Its the only way to know. Unfortunately, no.. the only exception is if you contact your lender and ask about "Foreclosure Prevention".. they might modify your loan to stretch it out to even 40 years.. But be forewarned.. they will need to look at everything.. your taxes, W2's, pay stubs, bank statements.. etc.. I've seen some lenders even ask for 6 to 12 months worth of supporting documentation.. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com NMLS# 226347 / LendUS, NMLS 1938/ AZMB0121893
