You'll likely have to use an FHA loan but depending on the details it could be possible. Your score is fine but BK adds a significant layer of caution to the approval, be prepared to provide a lot of documentation and explanations for the BK. It will also depend on when the BK was filed and whether you have "reestablished credit" since it was discharged - that will be important. Accounts showing a positive payment history.

This maybe a loan that can be done- It will be dependent on the current value of your home. You may be able to only refinance the 1st . Has their been any lates on any of your revolving credit after your BK? For more information e mail me at pete.bass@everbank.com- I would happy to assist you:)

A chapter 13 discharged last year should not be an issue if you meet all the other qualifications.

Good Morning,FHA will allow you to complete the refinance after 1 year from discharge. If you are still paying the debt, you will need to get permission from bankruptcy court/trustee.I work for Mountain West Financial, Inc. We have been a Calfiornia lender for 25 years, and I have been with them for 17 years. I would be happy to help. Please contact me at 800.800.5378, or go to www.homeloans-ca.comThanks,Ben Holloway

All conforming loan programs have mandatory waiting periods after a significant derogatory event.. FHA has the "Back to Work" program which allows you to purchase 1 year out of a BK, but they don't allow you to refinance using this program.. you will need to wait 2 years before applying using FHA, and 4 years for conventional. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
