Loan qualification before filing taxes on foreign earned income?

My husband and I are U.S. citizens, living in Singapore, earning an income in Singapore Dollars. We want to purchase a rental property in the U.S., have large down payment and excellent credit history. We have not filed our 2010 federal taxes yet due to an extension. Are we able to get qualified for a loan based on our foreign income without a 2010 tax return? by cindihaaland_862_868 from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Aug 17th 2011 Reply

The loan would require tax returns and a conversion of the funds into American dollars.

That answer is not entirely correct. As long as you have filed the extension for 2010 then you can use your 2008 and 2009 as long as it closes and funds before October 15,2011 as the extension is only good for 6 months. I am not in South Dakota so I can't do your loan, but I am sure there are capable individuals there that can. I hope this helps.
