I am working for a temp agency and want to buy a home. Will this be an issue? I work in office administration, and have been doing so for 12 years.

While I can't speak to your situation I can tell you that if you have been employed as a temp employee for over two years we can consider that income when qualifying you.

You can be employed for a temp agency. However, you need to show that you have been working with the temp agency for at least 2 years. This shows the underwriter employment consistency. In addition, although you are working for a temp agency, it strengthens your file if you can show you have been working in the same field of work previously and you can qualify for a mortgage loan with your temp agency income, Of course, there are other factors as well.if you have any other questions, please feel free contact me directly at 504-313-2326 or visit my website at www.CallTheMax.com.Thanks!

12 years in the same field is awesome, and so long as you have been doing temp work for at least 2 years, verified by filed federal tax returns, then you shouldn't have a problem.. If you really want to know for sure, you should try contacting a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Once they see your complete loan profile, they will be better equipped to advise you properly. Also, by applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with many lenders with each one offering a different type of lending program. This is unlike the local bank which typically only has a few lending programs. The more lenders, the more lending options, and the more likely your scenario will be accepted.. Plus, the broker is experienced in seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario, and he has lower overhead which typically results in lower rates and fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
