Doing fha loan, underwriter found error on taxes. Can lender use stamp on amended tax return to continue processing and close loan

Its a short sale and we are in the final stages where I can get bank approval any day now. I have never owned a home before. If they can't use the stamp directly from the IRS, ( I went to an actual IRS building), is there anything I can do to speed up process????? Thankns by frobro3684 from , . Jun 30th 2013 Reply

The error can where it showed I paid property taxes when that field should have been blank b/c I never have paid any property taxes before.....

That is a big red flag for the underwriter. I doubt that the Investor will allow a stamped amended return as they will need to get a new 4506T Transcript Directly from the IRS showing that the mistake has been fixed and the amended return is in their system. You can contact the IRS directly at 1-800-829-1040 and tell them you need a copy of the Amended Return faxed directly to you. Be prepared to be on the phone a while. Also, You may want to contact your loan processor and use their fax number to avoid any additional hassles.
