Can I get a VA loan during retirement?

I am retired and receive a pension. My wife still works and will likely continue working so we do have income enough to support a mortgage, I just don't know how to go about this. I've been retired for about a full year so I do not have recent work history to provide. Will my wife's work or does it not matter eithr way? by crohnz.ali782317 from Syracuse, New York. You can apply.. You don't have to be working to get approved, you just have to have income and your pension, social security, and any other type of residual income can be considered along with your wife's income.. the best place to start is by contacting a local mortgage broker and apply with them.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. You can definitely apply for a mortgage. You have retirement income - as long as it can be verified to continue for at least 3 years (most retirement incomes last for the remainder of your life) and you have your wife's income - then you are definitely qualified income wise to obtain a mortgage. My office is located in Buffalo, NY and our corporate office is in Syracuse - so I would be more than happy to discus this further with you and assist you in obtaining a mortgage. As long as your combined income and debts meet guidelines, you will be fine.

Yes retirement income we would be able to use even if you have been receiving only for one year, we would need a letter or verification which we would send out that would verify that you are to receive for at least 3 years. I am available to discuss which mortgage program would be best to suit your financial needs. I can be reached at 631-360-2151 from 9am-10pm daily including weekends.
