After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, with a degree in Electrical Engineering, I came to the realization that my real passion was in real estate and finance. I joined the residential firm of Mason McDuffie, where I learned the basic principles of real estate. After that, I formed my own company and we began to purchase apartment buildings in the Sunbelt states. For the next few years, I focused on commercial real estate brokerage, and in 1984, I changed over to the financing aspect of real estate. Being a numbers oriented person, I found the financing field to be more challenging and exciting. During 1987, I worked for the securities firm of Drexel, Burnham Lambert. This experience gave me a bird's eye view of the financial markets, and helped me appreciate my business from a more global perspective. After the crash of 1987, I went back to my roots- mortgage lending. Since 1987, especially over the past five years, we have seen a huge shift in the marketplace. Now more than ever, experience, hard work and integrity are being sought out and rewarded by the marketplace.
