Ben Bernanke will testify at the House Financial Services Committee today completing his required semi-annual testimony on the economy with House members not so polite. That said, he won't change anything and in the end it will be more of a venting by Committee members looking for TV coverage and media ink..

Daily I hear how tough it is to make loans. How rates have gone back up to high over the last couple months. I give you this chart showing rates over the last 40 years. As you can see, we are living in great times to be in the mortgage business. There is one true fact, no matter how high rates go, people will buy homes....

Apparently MERS doesn't have jurisdiction in certain court rooms to foreclose on a property.  Very inetersting: check out Judge Robert Grossman's rulings in a New York foreclosure proceeding case. .

Already this morning volatility in oil and stock indexes moving markets. Crude oil at 8:00 was lower by $.5, the DJIA futures up 75 points and the 10 YR note down 6/32 in price. By 9:00 oil was up $.30, the DJIA +63 and the 10 Yr note +2/32 with mortgage prices up 3/32 (.09 bp) frm yesterday's closes..

Even with tensions increasing overnight in the Mideast, the bond market isn't biting on safety moves this morning. However we have seen a slight improvement in the last hour of trading with FNMA's down 18 bps at this time..
FEB Employment Report Tommorow

Tomorrow the February employment report will show an addition of 200k nwe jobs and the unemployment rate up 0.1% to 9.1% according to recent consensus. Prior to yesterday's ADP report that private jobs increased 217k estimates for non-farm jobs was +180k. Always a wild report that most of the time deviates...
