So long as your in the same industry (old job, you drove a truck, new job you drive a truck), and so long as your old pay type is the same as your new pay type, (hourly, salary, commissions, etc..), then you should be ok.. most problems arise when someone leaves a job for a different career.. or they leave their Hourly Job for a 100% commission job.. Under this scenario, you have to be in the same line of work for 2 years, and if you switch to commissions, you have to be receiving the commissions for 2 years before the lender will consider the income.. Jul 21st 2014If you are going to be in the same line of work, you should not have any problem qualifying for a mortgage with a new job. You will just need to be able to provide a month's worth of pay stubs from your new position.
