you cannot add someone to a mortgage without refinancing.. you can add someone to the title without refinancing.. and you cannot remove your name form a mortgage and add someone else to the mortgage without refinancing.. you cannot remove your self from the title and transfer it to someone who was not on the mortgage.. that would trigger a "due on sale" clause within your existing note or deed of trust. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Others have answered correctly. The only way to remove your name from a mortgage is for the party taking over the loan to refinance in their name only. I am here in in Albuquerque and would be glad to provide more information for no charge. Please click on my name at left and you will be taken to my profile page with my contact info. Feel free to call this weekend if convenient. My cell is 505-350-3745. Thank you, Charlie Sparks, NMLS# 195031

You cannot transferred your name off a mortgage. The only way to do that is to refinance in her name. If you want off the deed, that can be done. The only way to release you from liability is for her to refinance it in her name.

You would need to refinance it with qualifying on your own. I am right here with you- live in Tijeras as well. My office is local. Let me know the specifics of what you are trying to do and I will get you through it easily enough. Kelly 505-286-3071

You can not remove your name from the mortgage. This is a common question during a divorce proceeding.

refinance the mortgage into spouse's name will work. Remember: if you are in a community property state (like Texas), both of you will remain on title, however.

The only way to do this is with a refiance loan.

NO... You can not transfer the responsible party on your mortgage loan. You can add and subtract people from title (legal ownership), but not from the loan.

No, it must be refinanced to change names.
