Waiting period after buying

There is no legal minimum time to wait. It may be difficult to get a payoff demand on your existing loan for 30 to 60 days, since your loan documents will be in transit from the originating lender to the servicing company during that time. Warning: do not use the same lender as you used on the purchase, as they often suffer a penalty if the original loan is paid off within the first 6 months.
