Child support counted as income?

I currently receive 926 in child support in addition to my income of about 45k. I wondered if child support is counted as income for being approved for a loan? by louis88303 from Alford, Florida. Jul 10th 2015 Reply

Child support income is counted as long as there is a Court Order and as long as it will continue for the next 3 years. Typically, this means that the child has to be no older than 15 years old unless there is a stipulation about college in the Child Support Order. If there is no Court Order, we can use it if you can prove that you've been receiving it every month for at least 2 years.

Yes it can be counted as income as long as you can prove it will continue for an additional three years. You also have to have proof of receiving the child support.

Yes, no, and maybe... Any non-job income, like alimony, child support, etc., must be documented to continue for at least three more years. And you must be able to document you are actually receiving. For example, we all know it is one thing to have child support ordered, and another thing to actually be receiving it. Contact a local mortgage broker in your area for more assistance. Yes, so long as you have been receiving it, and that you can prove you will continue to receive it for the next 3 or more years.. Typically, most states require the person paying child support to submit their payments to the county and the county disburses the funds to the recipient. This makes proving you are receiving it easy. Just contact the county and ask for a statement.. to prove it will continue, you will need a copy of your divorce decree and birth certificates of your children.
