I'm closing on a home March 11th. Will rates drop from 4.875 before then?

The rate went up to 4.875 today from 4.75...will I have the opportunity to get the 4.75 again before I close or are the rates going to keep rising? by daniellemshroyer from Charlotte, North Carolina. Feb 3rd 2011 Reply

I am not sure what the rates will do. They have jumped up and down but I can close in 21 days so you still have time to lock a loan. I will be happy to help you and you can contact me at csheppard@envoymortgage.com

I do not believe that interest rates are going to go down. You may be able to catch it for a moment if they do. That being said, 4.75% should still be attainable, depending upon your qualifications. What is the lowest middle credit score of any borrower on this loan? What is the Loan to Value percentage? What type of loan is it, Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA?Feel free to call or email me at 866-901-3576Patrick McCarthy Northpointe Bank
