is there a minimum credit score needed for zero down on VA loan

i have a 640 or close to that. i have money saved but would rather use on other things. 50K year income

Most lenders require a 660 for VA, however there are lenders who will go lower.. some as low as 600. Most FHA lenders require 640 or above, and you only need 3.5% down.. so between the two, there's a way to make it happen.. The best advice I can give you is to contact a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Do not use the local "Big" bank, or one of those 50 states internet lenders or nationwide lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario.
