Applying for an FHA loan but wife has poor credit

My wife and I have a joint bank account. We’re currently applying for an FHA mortgage, but I’m the only one who will be on the mortgage app because my wife’s credit is poor, and I’ll be working full time. From the DTI’s viewpoint we qualify based on my income and credit scores. Can we still use my wife’s unemployment funds as part of the down payment only, and not for DTI/income purposes because she won’t be on mortgage? I understood the part where that non-applying spouse can still take part in the down payment, but I wasn’t certain if they could use the saved up unemployment funds. by mckoudas929 from Detroit, Michigan. Yes, the funds in the joint account will be fine. You will probably need to write an explanation letter from her saying it is OK for you to use all the money in the joint account, but that is about it.
