Why do I need to transfer my home for a Heloc?

I was told that this was the only way to qualify by payned335 from Colton, Oregon. Jul 28th 2020 Reply

Missing too much information. But if I read between the lines, you must be an owner to take a loan against the house.

If you are not an owner, transferring title into your name will allow you to borrow against it. If you are on title with another person, and your credit is such that it prevents an approval, then transferring your interest in the title to the other party, may allow them to borrow against the property. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington.
