If I don't pay the late fee but make the mortgage payment before it's 30 days past due, is this ok?

I was assessed a late fee for my mortgage being 15 days late. I managed to make the payment before it went 30 days but my payment did not include the late fee. Since I didn't include the late fee with my payment, will my payment be considered late now and reported? Or does the late fee just roll into the next months payment until it's paid? by jonathan24 from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Sep 30th 2010 Reply

In my opinion that is a question you must ask the servicing company for your lender.

The late fee will roll into the next month. You will not have a 30 day late on your credit report.

I think, you should call the customer service department, explain your situation and ask them to waive that fee otherwise it might roll into next month and depending on who the servicer is, it might even be consider Late because you did not make a full payment as instructed.
