I own my home. I am doing a major remodel/addition. how can I find out lenders that have construction type loans that fit my needs

If your home is currently under any type of construction, it may not be acceptable to a lender. As Sara points out, an FHA 203K is one option. If your home is free and clear, than a cash out refinance would provide the funds to start the remodel after the refinance closes.
